With Hurricane Dorian now a potentially catastrophic Category 5 storm, officials in several states along the coast are warning residents to prepare for its unpredictable path.
The Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida Mayor of Jacksonville says mandatory evacuations will start at 8 a.m. Monday morning for zones that include Jacksonville beaches.
Much of Florida is still within the cone of uncertainty, and people are boarding up houses,
buildings and storefronts in preparation for Dorian.
The slow-crawling storm was predicted to take until Monday afternoon to pass over the Bahamas, and then turn sharply and skirt up the U.S. coast, staying just off Florida and Georgia on Tuesday and Wednesday and then buffeting South Carolina and North Carolina on Thursday.
